The platform now includes breakdowns of GCSE, A Level, T Level, and other qualification results, enabling users to examine grade distributions and subject uptake across specific areas. Previously, data was limited to ceremonial counties, restricting its utility for local analysis.

The new tool is designed to support local leaders, policymakers, students, and parents in understanding qualification performance within their communities. Ofqual’s Chief Regulator, Sir Ian Bauckham, highlighted that clearer data strengthens local accountability and decision-making as powers are increasingly decentralised. The platform also aims to identify regional inequalities in outcomes, providing timely insights during results weeks. Results days remain a critical moment for both students and the broader education system, with this data offering a more nuanced view of performance trends.

Ofqual Analytics will publish 2026 results data at 9:30am on results days—13 August for A Levels and 20 August for GCSEs—though updates may take a few minutes to appear. The platform includes interactive visualisations covering qualification data from 2019 to 2025, allowing users to explore trends over time. All visualisations are based on Ofqual’s direct data from awarding organisations, which may differ slightly from Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) figures due to timing differences in data processing.
