Vercel Agent is now available in Slack code channels

Vercel has integrated its Agent tool into Slack’s new code channels, allowing teams to collaborate with an AI coding assistant directly within Slack. Users can initiate a code channel from the Slack sidebar, select Vercel as the agent, and provide instructions to begin. The tool can also be summoned from existing channels or threads, preserving prior context. This integration aims to streamline team-based coding tasks such as incident investigations, dependency upgrades, and migrations.

The Agent posts real-time updates in the channel, including deployments, logs, errors, and code diffs, keeping the team informed as it progresses. It dynamically follows conversations without requiring repeated @mentions, recognizing its designated tasks and responding to new instructions. This reduces interruptions and maintains workflow continuity while the team collaborates with the Agent.

Teams can request pull request reviews from the Agent, which then posts its findings directly in the channel. The Agent identifies bugs outside the diff, explains failing checks, and clarifies root causes. This feature supports thorough code reviews without shifting focus away from Slack. All interactions are logged, ensuring transparency and accountability for requested and approved actions.

The Vercel Agent in Slack code channels is available in public beta for Pro and Enterprise teams. Users can add Vercel to Slack, explore Slack Code features, or consult the documentation for setup and usage instructions. The tool emphasizes controlled execution, requiring explicit approval for every action and allowing the channel creator to halt tasks at any time.
