Deploy without an account using Vercel CLI
Vercel has introduced a feature allowing users to deploy applications without an account via the Vercel CLI, enabling faster prototype sharing with temporary live URLs.
Vercel now allows users to deploy applications without creating an account by using the Vercel CLI. This feature generates a temporary live URL for sharing prototypes immediately, even before signing in. The deployment process occurs locally on the user’s machine, ensuring no data is stored without consent. A unique deployment URL is provided for sharing, which remains accessible for a limited time.
Temporary deployments are hosted on the tmp.now domain, distinct from the standard vercel.app domain. These deployments are designed to expire after one hour unless the user claims the project by signing in or creating an account. The claim process requires following a link provided in the CLI output to retain the deployment permanently.
Users must keep the claim link private to prevent unauthorized access to their temporary deployments. The feature is intended to streamline the sharing of early-stage prototypes with stakeholders or collaborators. Once claimed, the project transitions to a standard Vercel deployment under the user’s account.
To begin using this feature, users can refer to the Vercel CLI documentation for step-by-step instructions. The process involves installing the CLI, running a deployment command, and sharing the generated URL. This approach reduces friction for quick testing and feedback cycles without requiring an existing account.
