Vercel for Enterprise
Vercel launched Enterprise Apps and Agents to centralize governance for AI-powered development across engineers and citizen developers while maintaining security and compliance.
Vercel introduced Enterprise Apps and Agents in June to address governance challenges as AI adoption spreads beyond engineering teams. The platform provides a central control plane for managing builders, apps, agents, tokens, and budgets, ensuring security without stifling innovation. Employees using AI tools—whether approved or not—can now deploy applications under unified oversight, reducing risks like data exposure from misconfigured login pages.
Enterprise-Managed Authorization, launching in public beta, allows agents to access connected services through an identity provider without separate prompts. Bring Your Own Cloud on AWS keeps compute and data within an enterprise’s own infrastructure, while Vercel’s Security Dashboard and observability tools monitor all deployments. The platform supports both engineers and citizen developers, who may use tools like ChatGPT or Claude Code, by offering a single deployment target tied to existing identity management systems.
Klaviyo reported a shift from a two-week internal app deployment process to three-minute deployments after building on Enterprise Apps and Agents. In their first two weeks, 512 employees deployed 356 apps, demonstrating how the platform accelerates internal development while maintaining governance. Private deployments by default and Vercel Passport’s authentication requirements further enhance security for internal applications.
AI Gateway simplifies model access by routing across hundreds of models through a single API, with no markup on costs and Zero Data Retention. Mercor migrated to AI Gateway to consolidate model access for engineers, replacing scattered integrations with a single expiring secret and per-person budget controls. The platform also supports compliance by allowing routing through US-only providers, addressing risks like stolen credentials and unmanageable token spend.
