Free Play Days – Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, Control Ultimate Edition, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and More
Xbox announced Free Play Days from August 27–30, offering free access to multiple games for members and non-members, alongside a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 open beta starting August 28.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members can play *Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker* and *ARK: Survival Ascended* for free from August 27 to 30. Non-members can also access *Control Ultimate Edition* and *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves* during the same period. Titles are available via Xbox.com or the Xbox Store on console, with installation requiring a Game Pass membership for select games. The event provides temporary access without purchase, though discounts on game editions may be available during the promotion.
*Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker* celebrates its eighth anniversary with in-game events and a new DLC featuring Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode), including ninjutsu and costumes. Players can choose characters and compete in 4v4 battles using ninja techniques. The update expands customization options and gameplay variety. The DLC is available starting this weekend alongside the Free Play Days event.
*ARK: Survival Ascended* offers a dinosaur survival experience optimized for Xbox Series X|S, playable via Xbox Play Anywhere. Players spawn on a tropical island, where they must form tribes, tame creatures, and explore to survive. The game emphasizes crafting, building, and combat in a prehistoric setting. The free access period allows new players to experience the game’s survival mechanics before potential purchase.
*Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4* opens its open beta on August 28 at 10 AM PT, running until September 1. The beta includes new multiplayer modes, a campaign mission, and customization options, with rewards like the “Beta Forged” weapon blueprint. Players can progress to level 30 and earn rewards usable in the beta and full release on October 23. The beta is available to all players and can be pre-loaded on supported platforms.
