Amazon Connect Customer launches agent-to-agent collaboration
Amazon Connect Customer now enables agent-to-agent collaboration, allowing specialized AI agents to work together during live interactions to resolve customer requests more efficiently.
Amazon Connect Customer has introduced agent-to-agent collaboration, enabling AI agents to communicate and coordinate during live customer interactions. This feature allows frontline AI agents to delegate tasks to specialized agents, such as fraud risk assessment or dispute resolution, using the open agent-to-agent (A2A) protocol. The collaboration can occur via text or bidirectional voice, ensuring seamless handoffs and real-time problem-solving.
The A2A protocol, developed with the Linux Foundation’s A2A Technical Steering Committee, now supports voice streaming and session continuity for customer engagement. This expansion ensures AI agents can maintain context and provide consistent experiences without disrupting the interaction flow. Customers benefit from faster resolutions, while businesses gain improved efficiency in handling complex inquiries.
Connect Customer coordinates context passing between AI agents, ensuring unified observability, guardrails, and escalation controls across all agents involved in an interaction. Administrators receive a single contact record detailing each agent’s contributions, tool usage, and response times, enabling comprehensive analytics and quality management. This unified record supports continual improvement of AI-driven customer service processes.
The feature is available in select regions, with full details accessible via the region availability page. For implementation guidance, administrators can refer to the feature’s documentation, while pricing and additional information about Amazon Connect Customer are available on the official website and pricing page.
