Amazon EVS is now available in more regions

Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS) is now available in four additional regions: Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Taipei), Europe (Spain), and Israel (Tel Aviv). This expansion allows customers to deploy VMware Cloud Foundation workloads within their Amazon Virtual Private Cloud using EC2 bare-metal instances powered by AWS Nitro. The service simplifies migration by enabling a full VMware environment setup in hours, reducing dependency on aging infrastructure.

The new regions support all existing Amazon EVS features, including compatibility with VMware Cloud Foundation versions 9.0 and 9.1. Customers can leverage the latest VMware capabilities, such as memory tiering, to optimize performance and resource allocation for their workloads. The expansion maintains feature parity across all supported regions.

Deploying Amazon EVS in these regions provides lower latency for end users by reducing geographical distance. It also supports compliance with data residency and sovereignty requirements, ensuring workloads meet regional regulatory standards. Additional high availability and resiliency options enhance redundancy strategies for critical workloads.
