Apple opens Apple Music Hall, a state-of-the-art live music venue in London
Apple opens Apple Music Hall in London’s Battersea Power Station, offering artists a new venue for intimate live performances with professional recording and broadcast capabilities.
Apple Music Hall, a 600-capacity venue in London’s Battersea Power Station, opens as a state-of-the-art space blending historic architecture with modern production infrastructure. Designed to bridge intimacy and production value, the venue features a 38-foot-wide stage, bronze balconies, and a 48-speaker spatial sound system for immersive audio. Every seat is positioned close to the performer, while the venue’s technical setup supports arena-level production standards. The space incorporates heritage brickwork and a giant glass wall, maintaining a visual connection to the historic power station and the River Thames.
The venue functions as a full production facility, equipped with two professional recording and mix studios for capturing performances in Spatial Audio. A broadcast control room supports up to 16 cameras, including iPhone video capture, enabling live and post-production multicamera video. Artists can leave with a finished Spatial Audio recording, broadcast-ready mix, and video from a single show. Performances will also be livestreamed globally, expanding access to exclusive live experiences.
Apple Music Hall marks a new chapter in Apple’s commitment to live music, following the iPod, iTunes Music Festival, and Apple Music. Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and International Content, highlighted the venue’s role in supporting artists and fans through innovative live music experiences. Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, emphasized the venue’s purpose as a space to celebrate music and deepen artist-fan connections.
Apple also announced that Apple Music Radio’s London-based hosts and shows will now broadcast live from Battersea, integrating the new venue into the service’s 24/7 global streaming platform. Apple Music Radio features artist-led storytelling, global premieres, and surprise performances, reinforcing the platform’s role in connecting listeners with music and artists worldwide.
