Apple, The King’s Trust launch initiative to empower young creatives
Apple and The King’s Trust launched Creative Labs to train up to 20 young creatives aged 18–30 in industry skills using Apple technologies, building on a five-decade partnership.
Apple and The King’s Trust unveiled the Apple x King’s Trust Creative Labs, an immersive education program designed to give young people aged 18 to 30 hands-on experience with Apple technologies and mentorship from industry experts. The initiative targets participants seeking careers in creative fields, offering specialized workshops aligned with Apple’s ecosystem and real-world industry demands. Sessions began this week in London, coinciding with the opening of Apple Music Hall at Battersea Power Station, with additional cohorts planned throughout the next year.
The program’s first cohort will engage in workshops focused on music and creative industries, providing direct access to Apple’s tools, resources, and expert guidance to develop practical skills. Participants will explore career pathways while gaining confidence and expertise tailored to the creative sector, supported by Apple’s global community impact team. The initiative builds on Apple’s longstanding commitment to education and workforce development in the UK and worldwide.
Apple’s senior director of Global Community Impact, Alisha Johnson Wilder, emphasized the company’s belief in education as a driver of equity and opportunity, highlighting the partnership’s role in opening doors for young people. The collaboration reflects Apple’s broader efforts to equip learners with the skills needed to succeed in the workforce through technology and mentorship. The Creative Labs represent an expansion of Apple’s existing educational programs in the UK.
The King’s Trust, marking its 50th anniversary this year, has supported 1.3 million young people across the UK since 1976, helping them develop life skills and access employment opportunities. The Trust estimates that its programs have generated at least $15 billion in social value over five decades. Jonathan Townsend, UK chief executive of The King’s Trust, noted the partnership’s success in creating opportunities and expressed enthusiasm for the Creative Labs’ potential to further empower young creatives.
