Apple unveils the new Apple TV 4K, supercharged by Siri AI
Apple introduced the next-generation Apple TV 4K featuring Siri AI for hands-free entertainment discovery, faster performance, and enhanced smart home integration, available for pre-order now and shipping November 13.
Apple unveiled the new Apple TV 4K, featuring Siri AI, a conversational assistant powered by Apple Intelligence that transforms how users search for and discover movies and TV shows through a full-screen experience. The device includes built-in far-field microphones for hands-free voice control, even while audio is playing, and delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU and 2x faster GPU performance with the new A19 chip. The Siri Remote retains its familiar design while adding Find My support and a remote sound feature to help locate it. Pre-orders begin today, with availability starting November 13.
Siri AI on Apple TV 4K provides contextual responses, such as answering questions about shows or recommending content based on personal preferences when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone. Users can ask follow-up questions mid-viewing, such as inquiring about filming locations or content suitability, with answers appearing in a subtle overlay to maintain immersion. The assistant also supports systemwide app actions, enabling hands-free control of entertainment and smart home features directly from the TV.
The new Apple TV 4K enhances home theater immersion by supporting a four-speaker surround sound setup when paired with HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers, automatically calibrating audio to the room’s layout. It continues to function as a home hub, offering control of smart home accessories, including doorbell notifications displayed on-screen and the ability to interact with visitors without leaving the viewing experience. Apple Intelligence also generates camera activity descriptions and summarized notifications in the Home app for easier monitoring.
Apple TV 4K integrates with services like Apple Fitness+, Apple Arcade, and the Apple TV app, which includes live sports such as Formula 1, Major League Soccer, and Friday Night Baseball. Users can customize iCloud photo displays, set up personalized Memories & Slideshows, and use new screen saver shuffle features. The device prioritizes privacy with Secure Exclaves for microphone data processing and end-to-end encrypted HomeKit Secure Video storage, while incorporating recycled materials to support Apple’s carbon neutrality goals by 2030.
