ASUS Blade, developed with Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital under NHG Health, has been granted Health Sciences Authority (HSA) approval as a Class B In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical device in Singapore. The software analyzes peripheral blood films to support white blood cell differentials, red blood cell morphology grading, platelet estimation, and tele-hematology for remote case reviews. This approval follows evaluations across five public and private healthcare institutions, where ASUS Blade met all acceptance criteria and achieved 99–100% agreement with manual reference methods.

The AI-driven tool automates routine blood film pre-classification, streamlining hematology workflows and allowing medical technologists to prioritize complex or abnormal cases. Designed as a collaborative solution, ASUS Blade maintains final clinical interpretation and sign-out under qualified professional supervision. The software’s integration into Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem aims to enhance diagnostic efficiency while reducing manual workload in laboratories.

ASUS highlighted this milestone as part of its commitment to healthcare innovation in Singapore, with Cathy Chang, General Manager of ASUS Intelligent Cloud Services (AICS) Singapore, noting the company’s role in improving laboratory workflows through AI expertise and local support. The announcement underscores ASUS’s expanding presence in medical technology beyond traditional consumer electronics.

ASUS will showcase its healthcare AI solutions, including ASUS Blade, at Smart Health Asia 2026 from July 1–2 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The event will feature demonstrations of Clinical AI Assistant, Lumos, Miraico, and connected-care solutions like ASUS VivoWatch and ASUS Handheld Ultrasound with Healthcare AI Agent at booth #H32.
