Westcott dominates to take maiden F1 ACADEMY win
Payton Westcott secured her first F1 ACADEMY victory at Zandvoort after starting from pole position in the Reverse Grid Race, following Zoe Florescu's disqualification.
Payton Westcott, driving for Mercedes, claimed her maiden F1 ACADEMY win at the Zandvoort circuit on Saturday. She converted pole position into a lights-to-flag victory in the Reverse Grid Race, maintaining her lead despite two Safety Car restarts and a 17-lap race. Westcott won by nearly two tenths of a second, marking a significant milestone in her racing career.
The race began with Westcott starting from pole after Wild Card driver Zoe Florescu was disqualified from Qualifying for a technical regulation breach. Westcott avoided early incidents and navigated the race calmly, securing her first win in the series. Alba Larsen and Nina Gademan completed the podium, both driving for MP Motorsport, which achieved a double podium finish.
Esmee Kosterman scored her first points of the season with a fourth-place finish, while Ella Lloyd made a strong recovery to claim fifth place. Rachel Robertson finished sixth, followed by Megan Bruce in seventh, with Ava Dobson taking the final point in eighth. Westcott also set the fastest lap of the race.
Alisha Palmowski will start from pole for Sunday’s Feature Race at 10:30 local time, facing pressure from the rest of the grid. Fans can review the full race report and reactions on the official F1 ACADEMY website.
