The watch operates offline using on-device AI, ensuring low-latency responses even without an internet connection. Features like Raise to Talk and double-pinch gestures enable quick, hands-free interactions.

Google’s Pixel Watch 5 debuts Health Guardian tools, including industry-first breathing emergency detection that monitors oxygen saturation and calls emergency services if unresponsiveness is detected. It also introduces monthly wellness trend summaries for blood pressure, sleep breathing quality, and insulin resistance, powered by advanced Health Foundation Models trained on sensor data. These features aim to identify subtle health shifts before they escalate into emergencies.

The new model includes the most accurate GPS tracking yet, with 2x greater precision in challenging environments like dense urban areas or covered trails. It leverages 3D building models, real-time weather station data, and AI-driven optimizations to improve route tracking. Pixel Watch 5 is available for pre-order starting August 12, with general availability on August 20. Pricing begins at $399 for the 41mm model and $429 for the 45mm model, while the Stephen Curry Special Edition pre-orders start August 12 for $579, arriving September 3. The watch builds on the Pixel Watch 4’s foundation with faster performance, new styles, and enhanced health and fitness features.
