The Guardians oversee investments for the NZ Superannuation Fund and the Elevate NZ Venture Capital Fund, which together were valued at $94.4 billion as of June 30.

Finance Minister Nicola Willis stated that McClatchy’s reappointment recognises his strong commitment and extensive experience in managing large investment businesses. She noted his roles in overseeing portfolios for mutual societies, corporates, superannuation funds, and sovereign wealth funds, as well as his governance experience within the investment sector.

The reappointment is expected to maintain governance leadership and investment expertise on the board, supporting the continued growth of the NZ Superannuation Fund and Elevate NZ Venture Capital Fund.
