Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – New Multiplayer and Early Access Beta details
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Early Access Beta launches on PS5 with new movement mechanics, weapons, and six maps. Weekend One runs through August 25; Weekend Two is open to all from August 28 to September 1.
Call of Duty: Next concluded with a showcase of Modern Warfare 4, revealing new movement systems, weapons, and multiplayer modes. The Early Access Beta is now available on PS5, offering two weekends of gameplay before the open beta begins August 28. Players can test mobility features, weapons, and maps, with progression carrying over between weekends.
Modern Warfare 4 introduces fluid movement mechanics, including climbing, ledge repositioning, and suspended aiming. A Mobility Course provides tutorials to master these systems. The beta includes 22 weapons, customizable via Gunsmith, with Apex Attachments enhancing performance. Gunny offers build recommendations based on unlocked attachments.
Six Core 6v6 maps are featured in the beta, including Rooftops, Silkworm, and Transit 213, alongside classic modes like Team Deathmatch and new ones such as Inflation and Hijack. Kill Block offers a modular 3v3 or 10v10 Gunfight experience, while Ground War: Combat Outpost brings 24v24 combat to two maps, Imjin Farmland and Wolves Stadium.
Beta rewards include the Dread Tiger Operator Skin and a Level 30 Beta Forged Weapon Blueprint, carrying over to launch. For the first time, a Campaign mission, Entrenched, is playable in beta. Warzone Resurgence on Zodiac, a new map, joins the beta August 28. Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23.
