Waaree showcases 520 W flexible mono PERC solar module with 19.69% efficiency
Waaree unveiled a 520 W flexible monocrystalline PERC solar module with 19.69% efficiency, 70% lighter than standard panels, targeting curved and load-sensitive installations.
Indian solar manufacturer Waaree has introduced a 520 W flexible monocrystalline PERC solar module, designed for installations where traditional glass-based panels are impractical. The module achieves a power conversion efficiency of 19.69% while weighing approximately 70% less than conventional panels, according to the company. Its lightweight design incorporates M10 P-type monocrystalline PERC cells and an ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) polymer frontsheet, enabling flexibility up to 30 degrees.
The module’s dimensions are 2,242 mm × 1,178 mm × 3 mm, with a total thickness of 20 mm including the junction box, and a weight of 10.5 kg. It features a temperature coefficient of −0.34%/°C for maximum power output and operates within a range of −40°C to 85°C. The panel’s flexibility allows installation on curved rooftops, surfaces with limited load-bearing capacity, and irregular architectural structures.
Waaree, an Indian solar manufacturer with a presence across the solar value chain, produces modules for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. The new lightweight, flexible module broadens the company’s portfolio to address installation constraints posed by weight, rigidity, or structural limitations of conventional PV products.
The company did not disclose pricing or commercial availability details for the 520 W flexible module. Waaree operates PV module manufacturing facilities and other segments of the solar supply chain, positioning itself as a diversified player in India’s renewable energy sector.
