The developer Foxy Voxel has released a new update for *Going Medieval*, expanding the 1.0 release from March with a diplomacy system. Players can now interact with 12 NPC factions across six types, either through friendly diplomacy or conflict, except with the cannibal faction. The update introduces diplomatic offers via caravans, which may yield protections, resource support, or rare items in exchange for tasks like delivering livestock or clearing bandit camps.

Diplomatic deals are limited to one active at a time, and once completed, players can initiate another. Non-hostile factions can also send envoys with predefined requests, requiring players to fulfill them in exchange for rewards. The system adds a layer of strategic negotiation to settlement management.

The update includes additional features such as hiring settlers for jobs like farming or tailoring, and the option to hire mercenaries for combat. Faction-specific resources, regional market changes, and new events further expand gameplay. Quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes are also part of the release.

Players can review full details of the update on Steam, where the developer continues to support the game post-launch. The diplomacy system aims to deepen interactions with NPC settlements beyond traditional colony sim mechanics.
