Code channels are built specifically for multiplayer collaboration with agents, enabling teams to spin up sessions for tasks like bug fixes, feature development, or prototyping. Agents can access shared context such as screenshots, documentation, and prior conversations to propose code changes, while team members review diffs, run live previews, and approve work directly in the channel. Once completed, the channel archives itself, preserving the history as institutional knowledge while maintaining a clean workspace.

Slack Code integrates with existing AI agents from partners like Anthropic, Cognition, GitHub, and Vercel, allowing these tools to operate within Slack's security and permission frameworks. Agents inherit Slack's built-in controls, ensuring compliance and oversight without additional IT setup. For high-stakes actions such as production deployments, agents package their work for expert review within the channel, maintaining human oversight while accelerating workflows.

The broader goal of Slack Code is to make AI agents feel like integrated teammates across all Slack channels, not just code-specific ones.
