Samsung Introduces New Over-the-Range Microwave With DualVent Technology

Samsung Electronics introduced its latest Over-the-Range Microwave, set for release in the U.S. and Canada starting September 2026. The new model incorporates DualVent technology, which uses air intakes at both the front and bottom of the unit to capture up to 82% of cooking fumes. This design aims to match the ventilation performance of standalone range hoods while maintaining the compact footprint of an over-the-range microwave. The company highlighted the product’s practical integration of ventilation and cooking features in modern kitchens.

DualVent technology employs two strategically placed air intakes to improve fume capture across the cooktop. The front intake targets fumes from frequently used burners, while the bottom intake handles emissions from rear burners. Samsung stated that under identical test conditions, the system achieves ventilation comparable to its standalone hoods. The ventilation system activates with a single tap on the LED-lit controls, opening front blades automatically without manual adjustment.

The microwave includes Auto Connectivity, enabling wireless synchronization with compatible Samsung cooktops or range ovens. This feature allows users to operate both appliances simultaneously using one-touch controls, streamlining kitchen workflows. Samsung also noted a fingerprint-resistant finish to help maintain the unit’s appearance over time. The product is positioned as a space-saving solution that combines ventilation and cooking convenience.

Hyung Min Park, Vice President and Head of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the product’s blend of design and functionality. He described the microwave as delivering practical features that enhance the cooking experience while fitting seamlessly into modern kitchen layouts. The announcement underscores Samsung’s focus on integrating advanced ventilation and connectivity in kitchen appliances.
