NeoVolta, an energy storage technology company, is launching a third-party-ownership (TPO) financing platform funded by tax equity partners to deploy solar and battery energy storage for residential and commercial customers. The platform will initially focus on residential projects, with plans to extend support to commercial systems as its domestic manufacturing facility in Pendergrass, Georgia, increases production. The initial financing is expected to support approximately 700 residential projects, with integration of NeoVolta’s NV Wave residential battery platform beginning in November 2026.

As of September 30, NeoVolta has deployed projects in over 50 homes. Aurora Solar’s 2026 Solar Snapshot survey indicates that 55% of installers now consider TPO their leading residential financing option, partly due to the Section 25D tax credit’s expiration for homeowner-owned systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. The Section 48E credit remains available to the owner of a TPO system, making third-party ownership more financially viable for customers.

The TPO platform is managed with support from Luminia, NeoVolta’s longtime energy financing and deployment partner. Luminia oversees financing, installation, and ongoing support, providing customers with a streamlined and more affordable way to access solar and battery storage without purchasing or managing the equipment themselves.

NeoVolta’s CEO, Russell Smith, stated that the TPO platform simplifies the process and provides long-term support, helping more customers manage their energy costs. The platform aims to make solar and storage accessible to a broader range of customers by removing the burden of equipment ownership and maintenance.
