Representatives from Chile’s public and private sectors meet counterparts in London for ChileDay
Chilean and UK officials and business leaders convened in London to advance trade, investment, and regulatory cooperation during ChileDay 2026.
ChileDay – London 2026 brought together Chilean ministers, parliamentarians, regulators, and private sector representatives alongside their UK counterparts in London. The week-long programme, organised by the British Embassy in Santiago, focused on deepening trade and investment ties while sharing the UK’s expertise in regulation and capital market development. Activities included high-level meetings between Chile’s Minister of Finance, Jorge Quiroz, and UK officials such as Chris Elmore MP, alongside representatives from London Stock Exchange Group, His Majesty’s Treasury, and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Discussions extended to infrastructure and financing, with Chile’s Minister of Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications, Louis de Grange, engaging UK Export Finance, the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority, and UK infrastructure firms. The programme facilitated exchanges on Chile’s long-term infrastructure planning, project delivery, and public service transformation, exploring how UK experience could support Chile’s infrastructure goals.
A dedicated forum for Chilean institutional investors highlighted investment opportunities across the UK’s infrastructure, energy transition, and other strategic sectors. The event connected investors with key stakeholders in the UK financial ecosystem, while separate meetings between Metro de Santiago, Cross Rail International, and Arup examined lessons from the Elizabeth line and Kings Cross regeneration projects.
A reception at the Chilean Embassy in London concluded the week, uniting authorities, private sector leaders, and financial market stakeholders to discuss evolving global challenges and opportunities. The event underscored London’s role as a leading financial centre and reinforced the bilateral relationship through knowledge exchange and collaboration on modern, competitive markets.
