Vercel CLI adds Spend Management
Vercel CLI introduces Spend Management features, allowing teams to monitor budgets, view alerts, and pause deployments via command-line tools.
Vercel’s CLI now supports Spend Management, enabling users to check their team’s budget and current spending directly from the command line. Running the command vercel budgets displays the active budget and real-time spend, matching the information shown in the team’s billing settings. This integration provides developers and scripts with immediate visibility into financial tracking without leaving their workflow.
Users can also retrieve their budget alert history using vercel budgets alerts, with options to filter results by date ranges or output formats. A basic vercel budgets command shows the three most recent alerts, simplifying quick reviews. The feature supports granular control through flags like --since, --until, --limit, and --json for customized queries.
Spend Management includes a deployment pause mechanism to prevent overages. When spend reaches 100% of the budget, the --pause flag halts production deployments across all projects. This safeguard helps teams avoid unexpected costs while maintaining oversight of their spending thresholds.
Access to Spend Management is restricted to users with Owner or Billing roles. The feature is available at no extra cost for Pro teams and Enterprise teams on the Flexible Commitment plan. A full CLI reference for vercel budgets has been published to guide users through the new commands and options.
