Vercel Schedules is now in public beta
Vercel has launched Vercel Schedules in public beta, replacing Cron Jobs with flexible task scheduling across environments and plans, including a free tier.
Vercel Schedules is now available in public beta for all plans, offering users the ability to run tasks on a recurring schedule or at a specific time. Tasks can be executed in production, preview, or custom environments, targeting private Vercel Functions, HTTP paths, or Vercel Queue topics. Schedules can be enabled, disabled, or triggered manually without requiring redeployment, providing greater flexibility for workflow automation.
The new Schedules feature replaces Vercel’s previous Cron Jobs service, which will continue to function while a migration guide is provided for transitioning to Schedules. Private functions invoked by schedules have no public URL and are exclusively triggered by Vercel’s schedule infrastructure, enhancing security and control over task execution.
Schedules also support dynamic scheduling in the Eve framework and experimental scheduled tasks in Nitro projects, expanding its utility beyond traditional cron-based workflows. The feature integrates with Vercel’s existing ecosystem, including Queue topics for targeted task routing and runtime schedule creation.
Pricing for Vercel Schedules starts at $5 per 1 million runs and $10 per 1 million creations on Pro and Enterprise plans. The Hobby plan includes 500 schedule creations and 5,000 runs per month at no additional cost. Users can refer to the blog post and documentation for implementation details and best practices.
