Garmin launches LiveScope 2, its clearest live sonar yet
Garmin unveiled the LiveScope 2 Series, enhancing its live sonar with 20% higher resolution, noise reduction, and broader coverage, while eliminating the need for a separate black box.
Garmin introduced the LiveScope 2 Series, the latest iteration of its live-scanning sonar technology, featuring three new transducer models. The updated system delivers 20% greater resolution, improved noise reduction, and expanded sonar coverage compared to its predecessor. The new transducers connect directly to compatible Garmin multi-function displays, removing the requirement for an external black box and simplifying installation. This streamlined setup aims to reduce rigging time and maximize usable space on boats for anglers.
The LiveScope 2 Series introduces integrated image stabilization and smoother sonar performance, enhancing real-time visibility of fish and lures. Wider sonar angles in Forward, Down, and Perspective modes improve coverage, while faster processing speeds and lower latency allow anglers to observe fish reactions and time their hooksets more effectively. Built-in sensors, including an automatic water sensor and water temperature sensor, further enhance usability by adjusting sonar operation and providing accurate readings.
The new transducers come with a trolling motor barrel mount and an adjustable Perspective mode mount, allowing anglers to customize their setup without tools. The series integrates with Garmin’s marine ecosystem, supporting accessories like the Spy Pole mount for independent sonar control and the GT360UHD transducer for a combined live and 360-degree view around the boat. This compatibility supports a fully connected fishing system tailored to individual preferences.
