The Future Is for Everyone: Muse for Small Business
Meta expands its Muse AI agent to help small business owners automate routine tasks across existing tools and platforms.
Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent introduced earlier this month, now includes new skills and connectors designed specifically for small business owners. The update aims to address time constraints by automating administrative and operational tasks, allowing owners to focus on core business activities. Muse integrates with tools like Instagram, Facebook Pages, and Meta ad accounts, as well as third-party services such as Canva, to streamline workflows. The expansion reflects feedback from small business owners who report struggling to balance multiple roles within their companies.
Tom Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa, shared his experience using Muse to free up time for tasks that directly generate revenue. He highlighted the agent’s ability to handle roles outside his expertise, such as managing analytics and customer inquiries, while he focuses on product preparation. The tool’s integration with his existing business tools has simplified operations, reducing the need for manual intervention in routine tasks. Mulholland emphasized the practical value of Muse in addressing the unique challenges faced by small business owners.
Canva co-founder and CPO Cameron Adams praised Muse for its potential to enhance productivity by connecting directly to existing workflows. Adams noted that Muse’s ability to organize ideas and integrate with tools like Canva transforms early-stage concepts into polished, on-brand deliverables. The collaboration between Muse and Canva allows users to access templates and editing tools seamlessly within conversations, streamlining the creative process. Adams described the integration as a significant step toward making AI agents more practical for everyday business use.
Muse for Small Business is available at no cost for core features, aligning with Meta’s goal of making advanced AI tools accessible. Additional subscription plans are offered for users seeking enhanced capabilities, with more connectors and skills planned for future updates. The expansion includes support for custom connectors, enabling businesses to integrate unsupported services. Meta invites interested partners to apply for integration opportunities and provides resources for users to create their own connectors.
