From Enablement to Execution, Egypt’s AI Ecosystem Reaches Production Scale

Egypt’s AI ecosystem gathered at the Grand Egyptian Museum to showcase progress, featuring sessions from NVIDIA executives and local startups across smart spaces, healthcare, cybersecurity, and robotics. The event highlighted NVIDIA’s full-stack AI approach and the tenfold growth of its Deep Learning Institute learner base in Egypt within a year. NVIDIA also connected local founders with its global ecosystem, reinforcing ties between Egypt’s startup community and international investors.

Hassan Allam Data Centers secured a license to build data centers in Egypt, with a $400 million investment by Hassan Allam Utilities and A15 to develop a new facility. NVIDIA and A15 hosted an event in July to link Egypt’s founders with global resources, while collaborations with RiseUp, Plug and Play, and Flat6Labs further strengthened the ecosystem. The NVIDIA VC Alliance expanded in Egypt with A15 and M Empire joining, connecting local investors to NVIDIA’s global startup network.

Africa’s AI infrastructure is rapidly expanding, with four AI factories announced or operational and 656 megawatts of new capacity in development. Cassava Technologies, Africa’s first NVIDIA Cloud Partner, plans to invest up to $720 million in AI factories across South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and Morocco, offering GPU-as-a-service to local businesses and governments.

Stratos Lab and Nexus Core Systems are also contributing to Africa’s AI growth, with Stratos deploying over 7 exaflops of performance via NVIDIA HGX B300 systems and Nexus planning a $1.2 billion AI factory in Morocco with 500 megawatts capacity. NVIDIA has trained over 85,000 African developers in 2024, with Nigeria ranking as its second-largest market globally.
