Crimson Moon, a gothic high renaissance action RPG developed by PlayStation Studios, will launch on PlayStation 5 on September 1. Players assume the role of a Nephilim warrior tasked with reclaiming the fallen city of Gildenarch from demonic corruption. The game emphasizes brutal melee combat, replayable hunts, and challenging boss encounters, with all content designed to be experienced solo or in two-player online co-op.
Two-player online co-op is a core feature, dynamically scaling difficulty between solo and co-op modes to maintain challenge. Players share a communal life pool during hunts, allowing for revives but increasing failure risk with each death. Co-op encourages teamwork through coordinated Weapon Arts, build experimentation, and collaborative boss battles, adding strategic depth to every encounter.
PlayStation 5 Pro owners will benefit from native support for the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), delivering sharper visuals in Gildenarch’s blood-soaked streets and demonic environments. The game’s design prioritizes replayability, satisfying progression, and memorable co-op experiences while offering value through Standard and Deluxe Editions.
The Standard Edition is priced at $19.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs $29.99 and includes the Ceremonial Armor Set, the Axe of the Gods, and access to a Post-Launch Content Expansion. Players can upgrade later for $10. All PlayStation players receive the exclusive Sonai Magistrate Armor Set at launch, regardless of edition.
