Control Resonant’s Assist Mode lets players fine-tune combat elements such as enemy aggression, dodge timing, and damage levels to better suit their playstyle. Options include reducing enemy attacks from multiple directions or widening the Perfect Dodge Window for easier timing. Players can also adjust incoming and outgoing damage, power recovery speed, and melee positioning to ease combat challenges. Additional settings like Immortality and One-Hit Kills allow for a more relaxed exploration experience if combat proves overwhelming.

The Assist Mode settings are not available at the start of the game, as the developers believe players should first experience the intended combat rhythm before making adjustments. Players can enable or disable Assist Mode at any point during gameplay to tailor difficulty as needed. Presets are provided to simplify initial setup, with the option to further customize individual settings afterward.

Unlike the original Control, Assist Mode in Resonant can both reduce and increase difficulty, offering greater flexibility for players seeking a more demanding experience. Options include increasing enemy aggression, tightening dodge windows, or raising incoming damage to create a tougher challenge. This bidirectional adjustment aligns with the developers’ goal of accommodating diverse player preferences and skill levels.

The developers emphasize that Assist Mode is designed to keep players engaged by removing friction without compromising the game’s intended experience. No trophies or achievements are restricted by Assist Mode usage, reinforcing the philosophy that players should enjoy the game on their own terms. Control Resonant launches on PS5 on September 24 with these customizable options included.
