S-5! has launched the PVKIT 3.0, a rail-less mounting system designed to address space constraints in rooftop solar installations. The solution provides two configurations: a standard setup for minimal clearance and an integrated 50 mm clearance option to accommodate power optimizers, microinverters, and wiring. According to company CEO Rob Haddock, the system simplifies installation while offering flexibility for various module-level power electronics needs. The design maintains the simplicity of a rail-less system, reducing the complexity traditionally associated with metal roof solar mounting.

The PVKIT 3.0 is engineered to work with S-5! clamps and brackets, forming a complete DirectAttach system for metal roofs. It supports non-penetrating attachment on standing-seam and concealed-fastener roofs, preserving roof integrity without compromising performance. The system is compatible with PV modules featuring frame thicknesses between 28 mm and 35 mm in standard configuration, and 25 mm to 35 mm with the integrated clearance option. Stainless steel grounding teeth ensure electrical continuity and grounding between module frames.

S-5! claims the PVKIT 3.0 reduces mounting system weight, volume, and carbon footprint by up to 85% compared with conventional rail-based systems. The rail-less design eliminates the need for on-site rail cutting, which the company states can reduce transportation and logistics costs. Additionally, the system requires significantly fewer components, simplifying installation and reducing hardware handling on the roof.

The PVKIT 3.0 arrives pre-assembled and can be installed using a single tool, streamlining the installation process for contractors. Corrosion-resistant components are included to ensure long-term performance in demanding rooftop conditions. The system also features a lifetime warranty, providing additional assurance for installers and system owners.
