Protect production deployments for free on every plan
Vercel now offers free deployment protection for all projects across Hobby, Pro, and Enterprise plans, replacing a previously paid add-on.
Vercel Authentication can now secure every deployment URL within a project, including production domains, without extra cost on Hobby, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Previously, this required the $150-per-month Advanced Deployment Protection add-on. The feature restricts access to only those who sign in to Vercel and have project permissions, making it suitable for internal tools or pre-launch sites.
To enable the feature, users navigate to Security in the project sidebar, select Deployment Protection, and choose All Deployments from the dropdown menu. This setting can also be configured as a team default, automatically applying protection to all new projects created by the team.
Deployment Protection Exceptions are now available at no additional cost across all plans. This allows specific preview domains to remain public while keeping other deployments restricted, offering flexibility for teams needing selective visibility.
The update removes financial barriers for securing deployments, aligning with Vercel’s goal of making deployment protection accessible to all users regardless of plan tier. Teams can now standardize security practices without incurring extra expenses.
