Volkswagen has introduced the ID. Tiguan, a new all-electric SUV designed to succeed the ID.4 and ID.5 in the mid-size class. The model features a redesigned exterior and interior, positioning it closer to premium segment vehicles. Volkswagen highlights the improved material quality, intuitive cockpit layout, and the inclusion of a co-driver display for the first time in a European Volkswagen model.

The ID. Tiguan will launch in early 2027 alongside the conventional Tiguan variants with combustion engines. Thomas Schäfer, CEO of the Volkswagen brand, emphasized the model’s significance as a fusion of the brand’s best-selling Tiguan and its successful electric ID.4 and ID.5 lines. The ID. Tiguan will be produced in Emden, complementing the Wolfsburg-built Tiguan to form a strong SUV duo in Europe.

The new SUV offers a WLTP range of up to 600 kilometers and a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 kg, depending on the battery configuration. It will be available in three performance levels, with the 58 kWh battery supporting up to 1,800 kg towing and the 77 kWh battery enabling up to 2,000 kg. Additional practical features include a 32-liter frunk and a luggage compartment volume of up to 534 liters.

The ID. Tiguan is equipped with advanced technologies such as a co-driver display, a 10-inch driver display, and a 15-inch infotainment screen. Optional equipment includes a Harman Kardon sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with massage and ventilation, and a panoramic sunroof. The model also introduces the Digital Key for smartphone-based access and a PowerSocket for Vehicle-to-Load functionality.
