Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Polo, an all-electric successor to the long-standing Polo model, priced from €24,995 in Germany. The compact car features a WLTP range of up to 454 km and supports DC fast charging, allowing 10–80% charge in around 24 minutes. Pre-sales began on Wednesday in Germany, with deliveries expected later in the year. The ID. Polo marks Volkswagen’s transition of a bestselling model to electric mobility, combining affordability with modern technology.

The ID. Polo is available with three power outputs: 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW, paired with either a 37 kWh LFP or 52 kWh NMC battery. The 155 kW version delivers the longest range, while the 85 kW and 99 kW models use a smaller LFP battery with a 329 km range. All versions include standard features such as LED headlights, a 10-inch Digital Cockpit, and a 13-inch infotainment system. Higher trims add advanced driver assistance systems like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist.

The ID. Polo’s dimensions—4,053 mm long, 1,816 mm wide, and 1,530 mm high—prioritize practicality, with a 25% larger luggage compartment (441 litres) than its combustion counterpart. The rear seats fold to expand cargo space to 1,240 litres. The vehicle also supports vehicle-to-load functionality, enabling it to power external devices like e-bikes via a 230 V socket. The interior follows Volkswagen’s Pure Positive design language, emphasizing clarity, high-quality materials, and ergonomic layout.

Three equipment levels—Trend, Life, and Style—offer varying features, from standard DC fast charging in the Trend variant to premium options like Harman Kardon sound systems and panoramic glass roofs. The Style trim includes IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and massage seats, while all models benefit from Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform. The ID. Polo reflects the brand’s strategy to democratize electric mobility, leveraging synergies across its Core brand group to deliver advanced features at accessible prices.
