The Electric Urban Car Family (EUCF) marks its first public appearance with all four models—CUPRA Raval, Volkswagen ID. Polo, Škoda Epiq and Volkswagen ID. Cross—united at the Paris Motor Show. Developed under the Brand Group Core initiative led by SEAT & CUPRA, the project pools resources across Volkswagen Group brands to create entry-level electric vehicles on the MEB+ platform. The initiative aims to make electric mobility accessible while maintaining distinct brand identities and leveraging shared technology for cost efficiency.

Production is centralized in Spain, with hatchbacks built in Martorell and SUVs in Pamplona, forming an integrated Iberian manufacturing hub. Over 80% of components are identical across models, streamlining development and reducing costs. The MEB+ platform underpins shared features like front-wheel drive, electric drivetrains, and batteries, ensuring consistent efficiency and range while allowing each brand to differentiate in design and driving experience.

The EUCF’s success is reflected in nearly 150,000 pre-orders, demonstrating strong customer demand ahead of deliveries. This volume segment strategy combines competitive pricing, modern electric technology, and practical everyday usability with distinct brand profiles. The initiative also supports Europe’s industrial transformation, with significant investments in Spain including a battery cell factory in Sagunto and a battery system assembly plant in Martorell.

Thomas Schäfer, Member of the Board at Volkswagen Group, highlights the EUCF as a model for collaborative volume-segment mobility, balancing economies of scale with brand independence. The family’s launch in Paris underscores the project’s evolution from concept to market-ready products, with the Iberian production network serving as a cornerstone for affordable electric mobility in Europe.
