Apple’s latest software updates introduce Siri AI, a more intelligent version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence, now available in beta for English with additional languages rolling out in October. The assistant offers personal context understanding, onscreen awareness, and systemwide app actions, enabling users to perform tasks like splitting bills via Apple Cash or adding passes to Wallet directly from the Camera app. Siri AI also supports Visual Intelligence, allowing users to ask questions about onscreen content or their surroundings on Vision Pro, and Write with Siri for drafting or refining text through voice commands.

New parental control features include an easier setup flow for child accounts, age-based safeguards, and the ability to approve apps and contacts incrementally. Parents can also require approval for new websites in Safari via Ask to Browse and block gore or violent content in shared images or videos through Communication Safety. Screen Time now provides an at-a-glance view of device usage, allows setting daily time allowances for specific app categories, and enables scheduling access to apps at different times of day.

Performance improvements include faster app launches and photo loading on iPhone and iPad, with AirDrop transfers up to 80 percent faster. On iPad, file browsing and external USB transfers are up to five times faster, while Mac users experience quicker AirDrop transfers, faster iCloud Photos uploads, and smoother transitions between spaces. Apple Watch sees faster music playback, and Vision Pro connects to Wi-Fi up to three times faster.

Design refinements include a new slider in Settings to personalize Liquid Glass effects and sharper app icons. Search across Spotlight, Photos, and Mail is more stable and efficient, with a new ranking system in Mail surfacing more relevant results in Top Hits. Connectivity improvements ensure seamless transitions between cellular and Wi-Fi networks, and Messages no longer delays text delivery when sending large media in low-bandwidth situations.
