Apple has launched Siri AI, a redesigned assistant powered by Apple Intelligence, which begins rolling out in beta today. The update introduces a more conversational and context-aware assistant capable of searching messages, emails, and photos to find relevant information. Users can now ask Siri to perform tasks like drafting emails or editing photos, with actions integrated across Apple’s ecosystem and select third-party apps.
Siri AI expands its capabilities with onscreen awareness, allowing users to ask questions or take actions related to content on their screen. For example, while viewing a sports team’s website, users can ask Siri to find upcoming home games and add them to their calendar. The assistant also leverages broad world knowledge to provide up-to-date answers on topics ranging from sports scores to local recommendations.
The update introduces a new Siri app that syncs conversational history across Apple devices via iCloud, enabling users to continue conversations seamlessly between iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, or Apple Vision Pro. Siri AI also offers customizable voice settings and improved dictation accuracy, with polished text output that handles capitalization and punctuation automatically.
Visual Intelligence enhances Siri’s ability to understand and act on visual content, integrated into the Camera app on iPhone, screenshot tools on iPad, and a keyboard shortcut on Mac. On Apple Vision Pro, users can ask Siri about objects in their environment or app windows, while Writing Tools allow Siri to generate, refine, and proofread text across apps, including third-party software.
